JENNIFER MUNGERERA NJENGA Dr Jennifer Mungherera Njenga is a Medical Doctor with over 15 years of experience and special interest in Primary Care, Public Health and maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent and health. Dr Njenga has worked in several countries including, Namibia, New Zealand, Australia and Canada. She has led the development and implementation of improvement programs for marginalized groups including indigenous populations and migrants in the countries listed above. Dr Njenga has a Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery from South Africa, a Masters of Public Health from New Zealand and will soon have a Doctorate in Public Health from Australia. Dr Njenga is excited about the potential of working with dynamic teams to improve the outcomes of women, children and youths in underserved communities. Outside of work, Dr Njenga enjoys listening to music, watching movies, dancing and spending time with her family. Close MOSES DOMBO Moses is a PhD Candidate in Business Management, researching on health systems strengthening and decentralization. He holds a Masters in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Social Development Planning and Management, as well as a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture and a post graduate diploma in Organizational Development and Leadership. Moses is a highly experienced social development practitioner, manager and technical adviser with over 30 years of national and International social economic and community development work across sectors including program management, policy analysis, governance, social accountability, advocacy, agriculture and food security, HIV/AIDS prevention, psycho-social support and social protection for vulnerable children/ families, education, poverty reduction, micro-enterprise development, environmental management, gender based programming, cash transfers, housing assistance, post war rehabilitation and general operations. Technical competencies include training and capacity building, research, project planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing, community mobilization, strategic management and public speaking. Moses has consulted for various organizations including USAID, DFID, GOU, World Bank, UNICEF, Government and a range of Non-Government Organizations. He has served as a member of the Global Fund Technical Review Panel and is currently the Country Director of Oxfam in Uganda. Close HON. ASAMO HELLEN GRACE ASAMO HELLEN GRACE is a Member of Parliament for Persons with Disabilities Eastern Region. A Teacher and Legislator by profession, she has served as a member of several committees including being a Member of the HIV/AIDS committee of Parliament, the chairperson of the committee of Equal Opportunities of Parliament and Member of the committee on Gender, Labor and Social Development. She is a Member of United Nations Convention working on the Draft UN Convention for Persons with Disabilities and a Member of Uganda Polio Survivors group. With her work with disabled persons, she has served as the General Secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Union of Women with Disabilities of Uganda, a body that was mandated to formulate policy, advocate and lobby for women with disabilities in the mainstream, among others. She is also responsible for supporting various programs for disabled people, work with national and local authorities and align with other Government priorities. She is passionate about communities, advocating, lobbying and training those who are most vulnerable including disabled persons and young people, particularly girls with disabilities. Outside of her formal work duties, she is a mother who likes to enjoy time with her family and friends, listening to Christian music, reading African novels and travelling. Close RTN. MWESI HABAGAYA As Director of operations, he is responsible for coordinating and advising on the direction of organization operations. Mwesi is very passionate about improving the wellbeing of people and he believes in building and empowering communities to enable them solve their community challenges sustainably. Born in Butaleja district in Eastern Uganda, he is a graduate of clinical medicine and community health from Kampala International University and currently under-taking post graduate studies in clinical research and pharmacovigilance in India. He loves to engage in medical research and Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health programs (RMNCAH). Mwesi Habagaya, is the Founder and vision barer at Universal Health and Development Foundation (UHDF) an organization he envisions to improve lives of communities across the continent and beyond boarders and he has also worked with various organizations from grassroots to international levels while in his clinical practice he has worked previously at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, Kitagata hospital in Bushenyi and Murchison Bay Hospital in Uganda’s Luzira maximum Prisons headquarters including other private but not for profit medical facilities around the country. He has also and still serves on various national and regional boards including Girls Not brides Uganda where he is a member of the national steering committee and Eastern region coordinator, Served as the membership coordinator and member of the National steering committee of the African Youth and Adolescents Network Uganda and he is a member of many other community and district task forces. Away from Medical and NGO lifestyle, Mwesi is developing skills as a film maker and film director. He is also a seasonal businessman and his hobbies includes cooking, adventuring, some bit of music, movies and to serve generations. Close PROFESSOR PATRICK EDRIN KYAMANYWA MB.ChB (MUK), MMed (Surgery – MUK), MPH (Leeds), FCS (ECSA), FHEA (UK) Professor of Surgery (Full), Deputy Vice Chancellor, Kampala International University – Western Campus Prof. Patrick Kyamanywa is a general surgeon and medical educator. He is the Deputy Vice Chancellor at Kampala International University’s Western Campus in Ishaka-Bushenyi Uganda. He is a full professor of general surgery and an active player on the global health scene with interest in the area of innovations in development of human resources for health in resource-limited settings. Prof. Kyamanywa had most of his training – medical training and specialist training in Surgery – at Makerere University in Uganda and holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development, University of Leeds. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom and a founding Fellow of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSESCA). Prof. Kyamanywa has held appointments as medical officer in various public and private hospitals; medical superintendent of a 100-bed faith based hospital; and deputy district director of health services in charge of a health sub-district. He also worked as surgeon and lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda before taking up the appointment as Associate Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine and Pharmacy, National University of Rwanda in 2008. He served as Dean of the School from 2010 until 2015. In January 2015 Prof. Kyamanywa was promoted to full professor of Surgery and appointed acting Principal of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Rwanda. He returned to his home country Uganda at the end of 2015 and has since been a Deputy Vice Chancellor at Kampala International University. He has held several leadership positions in academia and professional bodies and he is engaged in a number of collaborative efforts. Prof. Kyamanywa played a central role in the realisation of the innovative Human Resources for Health Program in Rwanda, a 7-year multi-million dollar program supported by the US government and the Government of Rwanda. The program brings together faculty from over 15 medical, dentals and nursing schools in the USA to strengthen health professional education in Rwanda. Currently in addition to his responsibilities as Deputy Vice Chancellor, he is involved in research in the areas of injury prevention and epidemiology, gastrointestinal surgery and has a passion for medical education. These roles and responsibilities have continued to sharpen his skills in building collaborations for medical education, management, advocacy, team building, communication, scientific writing and the design, implementation and evaluation of health interventions within both clinical and community settings in resource-limited settings. Close NALUMU CAROLYN MUKASA Carolyn is a social justice lawyer and social entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience working in Governance, Human rights, Policy research, Advocacy, Commercial Banking, and Impact investment, At Ntandika Initiative Carolyn is responsible for coordination of all the organization’s thematic programs. Prior to establishing Ntandika Initiative Carolyn has worked as a Legal consultant for various organisations like Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited, the High court of Uganda (Commercial division), Balikuddembe and Co. Advocates, Interface Consulting and a Fund management/Impact investment firm called GroFin in several roles as a Legal Investments Operations Manager, Credit Administration Manager and Company Secretary. Carolyn holds an LLB (Hons- UCU), Post Graduate Dip in Human Resource Management(UMI) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Revenue Law &Tax Administration (E.A.S.T). Close ALEXANDER N. He possesses knowledge and skills to effectively access and to work closely with management, consultants, vendors, contractors, public officials, government agencies and special interest communities and groups. Mr. Nganga has been instrumental in managing US State and Federal projects in Planning, Investigations, Evaluations; Assisting with consultant teams in completing evaluations, inventories, or investigations of facility components to determine safety, code, and regulatory compliance and components at end of their life cycle. Mr. Nganga performed various Project Management where he coordinated project planning and implementations phases to completion. He coordinated project phasing and contracts compliance by performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews and provided comments and solutions to achieve project requirements. Mr. Nganga is extensively involved in Project policy implementations, procedures and standards, and other governing policies, practices, guidelines, and standards, as applicable. In international project, Mr. Nganga is involved in programming and engineering aspect of USAID a $17.2 Million USAID project in Liberia for USAID “The Sustainable High Impact Infrastructure for Education and Agriculture (SHINE) program” a project with impact in; social, education and economic in counties in Liberia. Mr. Nganga is also providing project management services on a B360 five-year contract $24.5 for University of Maryland School of Medicine – Institute of Human Virology (IHV) in Botswana. He is also providing management support for University of Maryland, School of Medicine-Emergency Medicine to lead in Egypt and Sudan as a prime in providing financial and logistical support services. Close RICHARD MUHUMUZA Richard Muhumuza is public health Specialist with over ten years of practical and professional experience in maternal and child health, nutrition, adolescent health, neglected tropical Diseases, project management and scientific evaluations. He holds a BSc. Degree Human Nutrition and Dietetics of Kyambogo University and a Masters Degree in Public health from International health Sciences University. In 2009 he joined Ministry of health, Child health Division as nutritionist, were he participated in a number of nutrition guidelines, policy documents and technical support to government stakeholders and partners including (Action against hunger, USAID, KOIKA, UNICEF, WFP, WHO) among others. The then moved on to World Vision were he has since served in positions of Manager and coordinator for East African maternal Newborn and Child health project(EAMNCH), Buataleja MNCH and Mayuge Neglected Tropical Diseases projects to-date. He has also contributed to a number of researches mostly in the areas of maternal newborn care and community health programming, and capacity building for health care professions. Whereas he is a lot of experience in health programming, his interest is majorly in working with communities for improved and equitable health services to most vulnerable groups in the population especially women and children. Close RUTH EMMANUELLA MWIMA Ruth is a Petroleum Engineering graduate from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) which came with its perks as she is able to fluently speak Mandarin. She is currently a Human Resource Administrator with Trans African Supply Services Ltd (TASS). She has an undeniable passion for fashion, modeling and as such has gone ahead to win various awards in the pageantry world i.e. Environmental Ambassador (Miss Heritage Int’l 2019), Miss Culture Uganda 2018/19, Miss Talent 2016/17 (under Miss Uganda) and Miss Social Media 2015. Ruth also expresses earnest interest in dance and has performed under Clay Dance Company with which she has had the priviledge to dance in various events, such as the Christmas Cantata at Watoto Church, Batalo East Dance Festival, among others. She has also choreographed in the Children’s production (Born for this) at Watoto Church as her passion for children and problem solving through performing arts is one you cant miss.
